Many of our users have been asking whether or not MaxPowerSoft’s Active Directory Reports supports the simple groups with members reporting. The simple answer yes it does. I’m going to explain briefly here with screen shots exactly how to do this simple task.
So without much further ado, here are the steps.
1. The first step we’re going to take is click on the “Groups” tab and select a report to run.
2. Now that you’ve run a report that displays the groups, we want to drill down and locate the members for this group. Do this by checking on the checkboxes of the groups you are interested in, or select the top most check box to check all the checkboxes.
3. Now that you have selected the checkboxes, you have to tell AD Reports to run load the members. We have two ways of doing this. Right click on the pane containing the checkboxes and select “Load Members” Or you can simply click on the load button and select “Load Members”
4. Once all the selected members have finished loading you can drill down into the grid view to see the members.
5. Now that we’ve loaded the groups and members we are interested in, let’s run a print preview!
That is all there is to it! Happy report running.

We have been promising a release for many many months now. Finally, we’ve arrived at the new and improved Active Directory Reports version 5.1.1.1. One of the first big things we did was we removed Crystal Reports. We had to do this due to some memory issues with the library. When users were reporting on large sets of Active Dircetory data the library would redundantly copy this information into it’s own location and this caused a whole boat load of “out of memory” nightmares. If you are dependent on still using Crystal Reports in our product you can still download the older version (4.3.1.4) from our products page.
Now the new version 5.1.1.1 boasts a whole lot of new features that I can’t seem to cover enough. Here are the basic bullet points.
