Active Directory Contacts

Active Directory Contacts represent external entities such as business partners, vendors, or customers who need to be listed in the directory without requiring user accounts or network access. Unlike user accounts, contacts cannot authenticate to the domain.

Contacts provide a centralized repository for storing information about external individuals or organizations. In Microsoft Exchange environments, they appear in the Global Address List (GAL), enabling users to easily find and communicate with external parties. Contact objects can also be members of distribution groups, allowing external stakeholders to participate in group communications and distribution lists.

General Contact Reports

The General Contact Reports section provides essential reports for managing and auditing contact objects in Active Directory. These reports focus on contact lifecycle management, organizational relationships, group memberships, and visibility settings. All reports support custom LDAP filters for more targeted results.
